Designed for the Highland Piper who wants a set of Scottish Smallpipes but doesn't want to
bother learning to use the bellows.
My mouth-blown Scottish
Smallpipes feature three drones;
Bass, baritone, and tenor in a
common stock. The drones lay
comfortably over the right arm
whilst playing. The baritone also
utilizes a bead whereby you can
turn it on and off to suit the music.
The chanter is parallel bored with
a bit of taper at the bottom and
plays the standard mixolydian
scale using highland fingering.
Finger holes, as with all my pipes,
are countersunk for easier playing.
Additionally, the upper natural 7th
and sharp 7th are both available. I
can supply the chanter using open
fingering if preferred.

The hand sewn leather bag is of
the modern style and comes with a
custom velvet cover.
The set pictured is turned in
Cocobolo with Yew mounts and
has an acrylic-lined, horn-tipped
blow stick (see
cocobolo notes).
This set is also available in Ebony
with other choices of mounts.

The three drones provide a full,
rich background for the chanter.
The volume is perfect for playing
with other acoustic instruments
making them ideal for your next
jam at the pub.

The Scottish Smallpipe is available
in the Keys of A, Bb, C, and D.
Pitched at A=440. A cloth carry bag,
and note chart are also included.
